I wanted to give you an update from Baldwin Estate.

As many of you know Baldwin Estate is manufactured in Nogales, Mexico.   Product is forged, finished and packed there before it is shipped to Baldwin’s Kansas distribution facility.

In response to the COVID19 spread the Mexican government has temporarily closed all non-medical manufacturing in Nogales.

This will effect lead-time on most Estate product since it is made to order.  Any new orders for a la carte or made to order will have an extended 8 week leadtime.  Any open order that has not left the Nogales, MX walls will also get a 8 week leadtime.

This does affect the Baldwin Estate Quickship program at this time.  Please feel free to use where opportunity are present.  This product is stocked in our warehouse in Kansas.  Those items are marked in the 2020 April catalog.

This temporary shutdown does not affect the Baldwin Reserve.  Reserve components come from Asia into our North Caroline distribution facility.  In NC these components are stored in bins and used to assemble, package and ship when orders come in.  Leadtime is normal 7 day average.

Our offices and factories are open for business. First off I hope you are well, as many of us work from our homes.  I happen to live in Wayne County, MI which is #2 in the country for hardest hit area’s.  We are all fine at this time 🏻
In these unprecedented times True is offering some of our Commercial SKU’s to the residential customer and retail appliance channel to help during the pandemic.  (See attachment) Since we have lots of inventory to ship globally out of St. Louis, and people are clamoring for freezers. 

These SKU’s only are being offered to consumers on our website or you the dealer.  (Only these… see banner on or website).  The consumer has to pay sales tax and a 150.00 drop ship charge and that will be to the CRUBSIDE only. Not into the house.  Crated and wheels not installed.  Again, Not even into to house!
The price sheet does allow you to make a margin and you get FREE delivery to your warehouse. Net net net program.  (No discounts, no VR, no spiff, etc). 
Let me know if you want a few to have on hand or you can we can ship them one at a time to your warehouse.  Again we will not drop your purchase.  It must hit you warehouse.  No charge freight. 
I know you will have other questions.  Just fire away.  And no this is not a misprint on the price sheet.  In the commercial world MAP pricing is higher than MSRP.  Go figure. 
Again I hope you guys and gals are well.  I am open 24/7 working from home. The factory has never shut down.  The ultra premium Consumer is looking past this and where surprisingly busy.

I hope that everyone is staying safe and healthy.  We understand that everyone is operating under difficult circumstances while navigating this unprecedented and rapidly changing situation.  We are doing our best to be a good business partner, a valued supplier, and an overall good world citizen during this difficult COVID-19 crisis.

I want to take a moment to update the current status of operations at California Faucets, Dezi Home and PVD Coatings.  While we could try to argue that we meet the “technical” classification of essential, we cannot in good conscience put our employees at risk of exposure, nor the community-at-large.  We believe we need to err on the side of protecting lives rather than short term commerce.  For these reasons, we have elected to continue to keep our production facility closed in accordance with the State of California “Stay at Home” order.

However, we continue to work remotely and have a very minimal staff in the factory to continue serving urgent needs (e.g. roughs, cartridges, etc.).  Please note:

• We have bolstered the ability for more of our customer service staff to work from home in order to give you more prompt service. 

• We have updated lead time information for visibility on projected lead times once we are able to reopen at https://www.calfaucets.com/covid19-lead-times

• We continue to fulfill and ship essential repair parts, cartridges, rough valves, etc.

• While we have rough valves in stock and can ship them, we may not “allocate” larger stocking orders to ensure we have sufficient supply available for everyone (we don’t want our rough valve area to look like your local supermarket toilet paper shelf ).

• We cannot accept returns at this time as there are no personnel in the factory to receive and process them.
