Stop Assuming!
I walked into an auto parts store (no names, please) to purchase an air compressor that would be powerful enough to inflate a car tire.

After being greeted with the proverbial, “Can I help you?” I asked where I would find the air compressors. He immediately told me they were all out.

As I began to leave, a young man behind the desk asked me what I needed it for, and I told him just to inflate a car tire.

He responded, “at the end of aisle three, on the right.” As I walked down the aisle, the other gentlemen said, “I thought you were looking for the larger air compressors.”

We all know what happens when we assume.

Stop reacting to what I refer to as customer sound bites. It still boils down to active listening and asking questions!

Basco Customer Support Update

Basco is pleased to announce that effective July 7th, 2022, we will be implementing a new phone system and call center software. We are excited about this customer service improvement and want to make you aware of some new features and benefits:DIRECT CONNECT – 1-800-543-4541. This dedicated phone number will put you directly in contact with the Wholesale Customer Support Team. We encourage you to update your contact information to utilize this dedicated line.
AUTOMATED CALL BACK OPTION – If you choose not to hold or leave a voice message, you can select this option and receive a call back as soon as a Customer Support Team Member is available. You get to keep your place in line without being on the phone, while still receiving the quickest service possible. This can only be done from a phone number where an extension is not required.
1-800-45-BASCO (1-800-452-2726) has some new prompts. After selecting Basco Mason, option #1 will say, “If you are a Wholesale customer, please press 1”.  This will quickly direct you to the Wholesale Customer Support Team.

Miele Inventory Report

Attached you will find our current/inbound inventory report, updated daily on our Miele Dealer Portal.

A FEW THINGS TO NOTE:

  • Inventory levels shown are as of this morning’s start of business.
  • We are not taking new orders on dish yet—I will update everyone as the situation develops.
  • Unless the unit is physically in stock, we cannot guarantee ETA’s provided by the dealer portal due to the continuing global supply chain disruption and congestion at our inbound ports .
  • Availability will change and fluctuate as a result of orders and stock movements throughout the day.
  • The inventory available is determined by the warehouse that serves your location:
    • OH & KY pull from our NJ warehouse.
    • IN accounts pull from our IL warehouse.
    • Orders can only be fulfilled out of your designated warehouse location.
  • The report that I am attaching has been slightly edited to show the most relevant information:
    • Column ‘F’ should be utilized via drop-down feature to look for specific product.
    • Column ‘K’ should be utilized when searching for availability by category (i.e. ‘Refrigeration’ or ‘Ovens,’ which we are looking great on!).  
    • Column ‘I’ and column ‘J’ show incoming inventory levels with arrival dates, respectively—again, this will change based on the amount of orders we receive daily.
  • Incoming units shown are available as of this morning—more accurate ETA’s will be shown when reviewing an order before submitting.
    • If there is no date provided, we are 11+ weeks out due to demand exceeding capacity and U.S. ports currently behind by 4-6 weeks.

Sending a quick highlight regarding current Miele refrigeration inventory. I have received quite a few inquiries lately, and we have units currently in stock / shorter lead times. I am attaching our updated Miele Cooling price book, as well as a snapshot of today’s inventory.

Baldwin Hardware Update

Wanted to send out a new product launch notice and some additional information.

1st – Baldwin Estate collection is please to announce the launch of 6 new 5” roses in our “a la carte” family.  Product is available now to order.  The May 2022 catalogs has the new list price for these sku’s in anticipation of this new launch.   They can be found starting on page 57-62 of Estate May 2022 Catalog.   However I’ve included links below to the launch material.
