Baldwin Update

Over the last 18 months, the Baldwin commercial team has been focused on improving Estate service levels, investing in our inventory position to best support the 4,000+ SKU Quick Ship program and exploring options to improve the Estate portfolio to create the best customer experience possible. Today, we share these upcoming improvements with you.

To ensure we effectively balance our product offering and continue to bring the right selection and styles to market, we are announcing several product, category and finish discontinuances within Estate.  These discontinuances will be effective May 23, 2022 with all items available while supplies last after this date.

A more relevant and healthy Baldwin Estate mix will allow us to react faster in market with product improvements, new product introductions and enhanced service to continue improving the Baldwin customer experience. Miele Update: Generation 6000 Phase-Outs

The following units have been phased out in preparation for the launch of our Generation 7000 series in 2022. At this stage, all existing orders will be honored in the order that they were submitted to the dealer portal.   The key notes here are that all coffee units and microwaves are no longer available to be ordered.

During a recent training session on “Selling Value Not Price,” I pulled out this very old quote, “The Squeaky Wheel Gets the Grease.”

Just because the customer keeps asking for a discount, doesn’t mean you have to give in to their request. Remember that dropping your price also drops your credibility.

Use your options first such as reducing the price by removing something from the original offer.

Usually, when a customer squeaks about the price it does not stop. It becomes louder in other areas.

Sell value not price!

As a remember this Friday, 12/17 will be the last day which  Fairmont is able to receive and process new PO’s as Monday 12/20 will be their last day of shipping.  Fairmontwilconduct inventory starting on Tuesday 12/21 through Thursday 12/23 and will be closed Friday December 24th – Sunday January 2nd, 2022 in observance of the holidays.  Fairmont will reopen on Monday ,January 3rd 2022.,

2022 VIKING CONSUMER PROMOTIONS – FINAL

The 2022 Viking Consumer Promos have been updated slightly. Here’s the top level changes:

VIKING BOGO+ – is still an instant rebate taken at the time of purchase.  Both the Qualifying unit(s) and free item or promotional allowance must be shown on the same invoice to be eligible.  Limit up to 2 Free Items and 1 submission per household.  Both of these promotions go into effect January 1, 2022.  Promotion Overview and what has changed:

  1. If the customer buys a Qualifying Unit they have their choice of a VDWU524SS or FDWU524 dishwasher, or a VMOH330SS OTR, or a VMOS501SS Microwave w/or without the trim kit, or the Cookware set shown or a $1,000 Allowance against the purchase of a “non-Qualifying Viking product with a UMRP (retail value) of $1,500 or more.    NOTE:  What we’ve removed from the upfront offer are the Micro Drawer, Micro Convection and all Hood options.  See #2 for more details on how the $1,000 allowance can be applied towards more Viking products.  NOTE: Both the cookware or cash allowance option counts as (1) of the “FREE” items selected.  All invoiced (qualifying) items and selection of free items must be captured on the same invoice, with the exception of the Cookware option (see Bullet #4).
  1. $1,000 Cash Allowance CAN NOT be used on any Qualifying products listed on the back of the BOGO form at the top.  The intent is to increase the size of the Viking package, so the $!,000 allowance must be applied toward the purchase of any “Non-qualifying Viking product with a UMRP (retail value) of $1,500 or more.  Accessories are excluded (i.e. hood blowers, duct covers, trim kits, etc.).  So – think Warming Drawers, Under Counter Refers, Ice Machines, Hoods, Viking Grills and for this component anything over $1,500 UMRP in the 3-Series offering.  Literally a plethora of options!
  1. UPGRADE charges for Colored Finishes and Water Softener Dishwashers have been increased to reflect the 1/3/22 pricing.  These upgrade charges must be passed onto the consumer by the dealer.
  1. If the consumer selects the 17-piece cookware option, they must complete the attached form – same as this year.  I’ve updated the MSRP value, as it has increased.  A copy of the cookware redemption form is also attached to share with your accounts.  Consumers can submit their completed cookware requests electronically to promotionalgiveaways@middlebyresidential.comor snail mailed to the address shown on the form.  A copy of the dealer invoice, must accompany all requests.

WELCOME HOME – is still a mail in rebate.

  1. Minimum Viking package must equal $15,000 (vs. $10,000 in 2021) in order to submit for the 5% off.
  1. Extended the submission date to end of 1st QTR 2023, as long as the order was written during the promotional period.
  1. WELCOME HOME submissions can be sent electronically to the email listed on the back of the form, or snail mailed.  A copy of the dealer invoice, must accompany all requests.

The VIKING BOGO+ and VIKING WELCOME HOME programs can be combined.  However, if a customer has been extended a Builder, MVIP or Fire Relief discount they can’t participate in either the BOGO+ or WELCOME HOME promo offers.

These will be posted on Viking’s website on January 1, 2022.

We have been steadily working to lower our lead times, which had increased as a result of supply chain issues and shortages of raw materials, and are continually making positive momentum in that regard. Be sure to get your Soaking orders in at current 2021 pricing because, if recent events are a sign of things to come, list prices will probably be increasing in 2022!
