We thought it was time for an update on Water Street Brass.
Considerable progress has been made in developing manufacturing and finishing standards in the new factory. As we reported a couple of months ago, lead times on both door hardware and cabinet hardware have been reduced. We had expected to see continued improvement, however due to many of the same issues impacting most manufacturers in the US and around the world, our progress has been slowed. These issues stem from a disruption of the workforce last year during Covid as well as current staffing challenges. And demand for our products remains high.
Below is a listing of our current lead times by category.
1. Cabinet – 7-9 weeks for standard items
2. Quick Ship polished nickel – not affected – ships within 48 hours (REMINDER: QUICK SHIP ORDERS MUST BE ON A SEPARATE P.O. OR THEY WILL SHIP WITH THE REMAINDER OF THE ORDER WHEN ITS COMPLETE)
3. Door – SMALL ORDER (Up to $15K) 7 – 9 weeks
• MEDIUM ORDER ($15 – $30K) 9 – 11 weeks
• LARGE ORDER ($30 – $50K) 14 – 16 weeks
Management continues to work to bring these lead times down and we anticipate announcing lead time reductions in the coming months.
