We thought it was time for an update on Water Street Brass.

Considerable progress has been made in developing manufacturing and finishing standards in the new factory. As we reported a couple of months ago, lead times on both door hardware and cabinet hardware have been reduced. We had expected to see continued improvement, however due to many of the same issues impacting most manufacturers in the US and around the world, our progress has been slowed. These issues stem from a disruption of the workforce last year during Covid as well as current staffing challenges. And demand for our products remains high.

Below is a listing of our current lead times by category.

1.       Cabinet – 7-9 weeks for standard items

2.       Quick Ship polished nickel – not affected – ships within 48 hours (REMINDER: QUICK SHIP ORDERS MUST BE ON A SEPARATE P.O. OR THEY WILL SHIP WITH THE REMAINDER OF THE ORDER WHEN ITS COMPLETE)

3.      Door – SMALL ORDER (Up to $15K) 7 – 9 weeks

          • MEDIUM ORDER ($15 – $30K) 9 – 11 weeks

          • LARGE ORDER ($30 – $50K) 14 – 16 weeks

Management continues to work to bring these lead times down and we anticipate announcing lead time reductions in the coming months.

I wanted to pass along a product enhancement and new finish for Baldwin Reserve launching 6/28.

The attached customer presentation gives very detailed information on both product announcements.   As I come around I will be talking about these product launches with the sales team members at your showroom.

Here is a high level overview.

First – Effective 6/28 all Reserve ¾ and full Escutcheon handlesets will come with an “Emergency Egress” ¾ escutcheon interior.   This change will affect 9 of the 15 Baldwin Reserve handleset currently offered.   Below is a picture of one of the nine handlesets that will be affected by change.  This will give our customers a nicer more upgrade look and add the Emergency Egress feature.

The Reserve ¾ & Full Escutcheon handlesets (Del Mar, Elizabeth, New Hampshire, Miami, Seattle, Santa Cruz, Elkhorn, Kodiak and Longview) are the 9 handlesets that will have the new Emergency Egress.  The sectional interior will no longer be available to order for these handleset after 6/27.

The Reserve Sectional handlesets (Columbus, Chesapeake, Napa, Westcliff, Ja Jolla and Adirondack) will not be offer this new option.

Second – Launching  6/28, Baldwin will introduce PVD Lifetime Satin Brass (044) in the Reserve Traditional and Contemporary families.  The 044 finish will replace the 049 Matte Brass and Black finish.   We will also be making a slight change to finish code 141 Polished Nickel to 055 PVD Polished nickel.

Updates to showroom displays is already in works.  I will be making stops into your showroom to make updates to your display.  More information is coming, but feel free to reach out to me.

• We shipped out the majority of the open orders. We will begin shipping again and back to our normal 2 week lead time by the 3^rd week in June.

Profiles Mirror Ganging Kit – 24” W x 30” H

• We are currently unable to produce the Profiles Mirror Ganging Kit – 24” W x 30” H. We expect to begin shipping and back to our normal 2 week lead time by the end of June.

Classic and Inspire finishes, Profiles vanities, and Engineered Stone Tops are at a 4 week lead time.

All other cabinets, wall mirrors, vanities in the Essentials finishes, lighting, and glass tops are at a 2 week lead time. To review standard lead times, visit here.

Late yesterday evening we were informed by Delta, they are going to temporarily pause production of some of their skus.  This temporary pause of production will span across the Brizo, Delta and Peerless product lines.  The pause is scheduled to be for the next 120 days and will hopefully resume early 4^th quarter 2021.  During this time no orders will be allowed on any of the paused products.  However, if you currently have any of these items on order, they will fulfill the orders. 

Attached is a copy of the letter from Delta and a matrix of the paused product.  We are in unchartered waters with supply chain and production and feel the temporary pause of certain skus will help us get backorders caught up and begin to see lead times cut down and product shipping more efficiently.
