Americh Update

While there were no major issues I have seen with freight damage Americh found a way to improve the packaging to insure all of their tubs arrive without issue and do not add delays to projects because of freight damage. Thus they have done the following to be proactive.

New bath packaging                    Americh has tested and approved new boxing.  The Beta tests showed that the boxes and ‘bumpers’ are better at protecting the product than the previous boxes.  The boxes are easier to open for inspection and easier to put back together for delivery.   The new boxes act like an upside down shoe box.  That is to say that the ‘top’ is underneath the tub and the tub sits on bumpers that protect the bottom and the feet.  The box does not need to be opened from the end.  The top piece of the box can be lifted off for inspection and put back onto the bottom of the box easily without breaking the packaging.

Chris Mezzapesa put together the attached sheet to explain the construction.  All products are now being delivered with these boxes.  (see attachment)

New product pipeline                  Currently in development are a 66” Maude and a 60”/66” contemporary Bow-style 2 wall unit.  Americh is also working on a 2 pc freestanding in a contemporary rectangular shape.  More information will follow when available.

ROC in solid color                          Americh has been working on pouring ROC product with color through and through (not painted on).  Americh has had success with both grey and black.  For now, they must be glossy.  The production team are working on matte versions but have not gotten a product that meets our standards.  Americh be showing a grey Beijing at the DPHA booth next month.

Product Quick Fact                       This month’s product info is about water sensors.

I was asked why the water sensors are not color matched to the tub.  The water sensors are stainless steel and cannot be color coated because a coating would interfere with the sensor’s ability to detect water.  They must remain uncoated.

There are 2 sensors on the Luxury and Platinum whirlpools to detect good water levels for the jets to work (no sensor on a Builder model as they have an air switch).

There are 2 sensors on an Airbath II or V to detect that the water has drained and start the dry cycle after a bath, after a shower in the bath, a steam, etc.

The sensors, on both whirlpool and airbath, are located 2-3” above the jets.  In a whirlpool, they are horizontal, side by side, a few inches apart.  In an airbath, they are vertical, one above the other, a few inches apart.

Handover Close

Updates from Marvin Montgomery
Sales Tip #710 From The Sales Doctor
Handover Close
I have been working with several of my ongoing customer relationships about the importance of maximizing every sales opportunity. You can do this by adding the Handover Close to your sales process.

Just like in baseball when they change the pitcher because it will be a better matchup, the same situation applies.

There will be situations when it’s not a good match up and you need to get someone else involved before you lose the opportunity. It could be someone that has more experience or a male verse a female.

Sometimes you need a second opinion or a different approach.

You never want to have the mentality that if I can’t sell it no one can.
