MARCH 14, 2019: UPDATE ON OUR LEAD TIMES
Dear Client,
I hope this note finds you well.
A quick note to let you know where things stand on orders.
LEAD TIMES
Please be advised that as of the date of this writing (March 14th) our lead times on new orders for WETMAR BiO items (tubs, sinks and shower pans) is 6 weeks.
We expect this to be the case for another 10-14 days at which time our back orders and late deliveries will be cleaned up. This takes us up to March 22nd where our back order and at risk orders should be behind us.
I am happy to report that our exercise of cleaning up the dates in the system and getting the planning aligned is completed.
We have reset all dates to reflect a more conservative yet more accurate/realistic shipping dates.
As of this writing, all new WETMAR orders are being processed at 6 weeks. We will process display orders at 8 weeks until our back orders are resolved. At end of March we are expected to back to 3-4 weeks and hopefully even better.
We have now settled into our new facility and things are getting back to a good and consistent beat.
We have made some changes to the system to improve transparency for our service team on the status of where orders sit. I know this has been a source of frustration for you as delivery dates communicated have not been consistently seen in reality. This is not the customer service team’s fault. This is on me as it is more of an operations and systems challenge. We have worked hard to overcome both.
SERVICE TEAM IMPROVEMENTS
As a matter to better service you, as of April the service team will be organized so that each territory and dealer has one account manager to deal with. This will include order entry, questions and service matters. More to come on this in the next few weeks.
FREIGHT CARRIERS FOR USA DEALERS
On the freight side. We did make a wholesale change away from Milgram-Day & Ross to FedEx for US destinations. As conveyed we have monitored to see how this has been doing. The freight related damages have come down considerably for deliveries however we are still looking for an improvement and will be trying another transport vendor on select routes in an effort to improve. This freight carrier been doing deliveries for high end furniture companies sending goods from Quebec to the US and for Bain Ultra for over 10 years. They come highly recommended. We will try them on a few routes and ask you how it goes.
LOOKING FORWARD
While there may be an impression that I am not aware of the issues and not “on it” , my team and I are focused wholeheartedly on improving our performance and please let me assure you that there is light at the end of this tunnel and it is only a few weeks away. Sometimes we break a few eggs when making a delicious omelet.
Thanks for your continued support of WETSTYLE
I am available to you to discuss.
