Hardware Renaissance Office Closed

MAAX & Aker Holiday Schedule

Please be sure to order during November for December delivery.

With the holiday season approaching, we would like to share MAAX and Aker plant schedules.

All MAAX and Aker manufacturing operations and offices will be closed from Monday, December 26

to Friday, December 30, 2016. The last planned shipping day will be December 23, 2016.

To provide you with required product during this shutdown period, we request that orders be placed on

or before Wednesday, November 30, 2016. This will give our manufacturing facilities increased

visibility of the requirements and allow us to better serve you.

Orders placed on or after December 9, 2016 may be delivered in January of 2017.

Hello All…

It’s November and the year is winding down.  We just had the most amazing Presidential election and I am sure we are all waiting with baited breath to see what decisions the new administration makes that will impact all of our lives…Change is in the air….
Emtek just held the quarterly sales meeting with all sales reps via conference call and webinar and I want to share the news with all of you.
Price Books 2017
Emtek will be shipping the new 2017 Price books to your location the 3rd week of December so you will have a chance to look at any changes and additions that will be made before they go into effect on February 6, 2017.  Price increases will be 1% or less and NOT across the board.  The increase will impact only a few items… this is very good news. If you do not see the price books at your location by year end, please check with your receiving department first.  This year I spent hours doing a total review of my dealers, new addresses, new ship to locations made this year, and I relied on the number of sets that were sent last year plus the number of sets that were requested after the initial shipment. The cost of publishing  then shipping the books is massive. Therefore, I tried my best to get it right the first time for all concerned.  If you need additional sets, please let me know after you have distributed what you receive.
I will forward PDF versions of the price books sometime in January, as soon as they become available.
KBIS 2017
The Kitchen and Bath Industry show will be held in Orlando Florida this year on Tuesday, January 10through Thursday, January 12.  For we midwesterners, this will be a great opportunity to learn whats new in the building industry and enjoy some hopefully, much needed sunshine and warm weather.  I have not heard to date if Emtek will be offering the Free Passes as has been the case in past years.  I will let you know as soon as I know, I have asked the question.
 
Excel spreadsheets will be available sometime in January listing Cabinet and Bath product codes and this year SOME of the door hardware will also be available.  I will send this information out once I receive it as well.
 
Access to Your Account Information (self Help)
Sometime during the first quarter of 2017 Emtek is hoping to be able to make your account information available to dealers.  This has been a project they have worked on for months.  You will be able to go into your account and see what orders have shipped with tracking numbers,  orders that have been cancelled, your account balance etc..  This will be immensely helpful so you can bypass the need to call into Emtek and wait on hold.  Maddening for me as well.
 
Order Entry and Customer Service have added new staff members and hopefully the 6 that are currently out on maternity leave will return early in 2017 as well, which will reduce call in wait times.
 
At some point in the next YEAR OR SO, you  should be able to actually place your orders online…
 
KBIS 2017
The Emtek Booth is #W1311. I am attaching the KBIS Show Schedule & Maps and Directions. Please let me know if you plan to attend.  I will let you know once I have my scheduled booth time, however, I will be happy to meet you at the Emtek booth if I am available outside of my scheduled work time.  Sales reps were told the the new Barn Door Hardware will be shown as well as the Larger Entry Door Multi Point Hardware.  Both of these products will be available to order during the first quarter of 2017…
 
5100 Series Adjustable Latch Replacement January 2017
Emtek has done exhaustive testing, tweeking and more testing to introduce the new ROBUST latches that will NOT BE ADJUSTABLE for the 5100 series Key In Knobs and Levers. The new non adjustable latches will function in the current 5100 series hardware in your customers homes.  
 
There will be many new product introductions in 2017 and finish offerings will grow in categories that might not be offered currently.
Product Knowledge Training at your location
I have a list of dealer locations I have discussed Product Knowledge Training with throughout 2016.  I will be contacting you shortly to schedule the training during the first quarter of 2017.  Please let me know if you would like to have training scheduled at your location if we have not discussed it or I fail to contact you.  The first quarter is the perfect time in our part of the country as typically, things are a bit slow.
 
I am attaching the Hinge Specification information from the Emtek website.  You might find this helpful down the road.  Do not forget, bulk hinge screws are available when needed.
I will also attach the Parts List for you to keep on hand when time is of the essence.​
I am also including a list of Emtek Product suggestions you might want to consider when building a Whole House Suited Hardware Package for your customer.
It has been a very good year for most of us.  We can only hope growth will continue into 2017…
