The fix for all stainless cooktops that turn brown over time (they all will/ every brand) is to clean the surface with Easy Off oven cleaner.

Stainless turns brown around the burners due to high heat/ food stains and a chemical action from the metal itself. Our stainless finishes are all “bead blasted” which helps the customer scrub more aggressively without scratching but (the only manufacturer still doing so) but over time and if used heavily they will still often turn brown. Easy off completely removes it.

He’s going to do that himself and I think he’ll be fine.

The Rohl pull down faucet will stay in the spray position when the button is pushed.  You don’t have to hold it in.  Push a second time to release or simply turn off the water to release.

All TOTO Roman Tub roughs have to be installed when the tub is installed at the rough stage.  Otherwise they have to take down the tile, etc. to get it in.
