I wanted to pass along a Baldwin update concerning Baldwin Estate distribution move. Last year Baldwin’s parent company, Spectrum Brands bought a new distribution facility in Kansas City, KS. Baldwin Reserve will remain at Spectrum’s small parts facility in North Carolina. Again this new facility is only for Baldwin Estate.
This coming weekend will be the official transition to the new facility in Kansas. Here are some key points I want to share with you.
- Spectrum’s other brands (Kwikset, Pfister and National Hardware) had already made move to Kansas in 2017. The new facility is up and running. It is Baldwin’s hope that most of initial hiccups that the other brands felt in 2017 will be avoided and transition pain will be minimized.
- We will continue to ship from North Carolina through next week.
- Next week all new orders will be shipping from Kansas location.
- During transition, customers might see acknowledgment updates to the new location for past orders
- Any orders with a promise date to ship in the next 2 weeks will see a few days of delay as product will be transitioning to new facility.
- Regarding “Ship Complete Orders”, Baldwin’s customer service team may contact you to ask if they can do partial shipments from either facility this week or next. If account choices to stay as ship complete it will add a few days to lead time for the transition to new facility.
- On average shipping transit time from NC is 3 days. The new facility location will either not change the shipping transit time or it will improve depending how close you are to new Kansas location.
