During the standard manufacturing and handling process, parts can become discolored or exhibit dark marks or streaks on the exterior of the part body which will not affect the operation or functionality of the part when installed in a system.
If part appearance is too discolored, we will occasionally send parts out for a secondary cleaning process that will significantly change the appearance of the part so that it looks much “brighter”. While these parts will look different than similar items from a different date code, the cleaning process will not affect valve operation or performance or change valve dimensions.
We recently used a secondary cleaning process for some of our screw bonnet check valve and our 4-bolt check valve product lines, and these may show up in deliveries over the next few weeks. Once inventories are exhausted, you will note a return to the standard appearance of our valves.
