Worcester Bath update:
Upon receipt of the initial order of Worcester baths from the factory we have identified a potential issue with the bases. The issue relates to the mould and will require the retooling of our current moulds. While we can quickly address the issue, there is an impact to the lead time and availability of the Worcester. New bases are scheduled to begin production by the beginning of June which means inventory into Charleston mid to late July. At this time the safest estimated lead time to share with customers is 8 weeks.
The original inventory which has been used to satisfy display orders should not be affected, as the problem is with the bases on the initial shipments are a little larger than the tubs, creating unsightly gaps. This is being rectified with the retooling. In an effort to minimize the issue on displays, we have shipped the initial displays assembled ( base and tub).
Please communicate to all showrooms that the current lead time on the Worcester is 8 weeks. Communicating this info although not “good news” prior to orders being taken from consumers should minimize most issues.
I apologize for the inevitable inconvenience the back order situation will create. We are working diligently to resolve the issue and get the high quality products customers have come to expect from Victoria + Albert available as soon as possible.
