This article in the NY Times concerning the “Chinese drywall” crisis is incredible. To a lesser extent, the same problem affects the imported Chinese plywood which contains formaldehyde and has made many people sick. We at the Furniture Guild have always used Purebond plywood which is 3 times more expensive than the import, but it is of the best quality and is safe for your family.
Advise your customers that it is possible to “buy too cheap” in both imported Asian cabinetry or American made cabinets constructed with imported plywood.
