As creatures of habit, we tend to see things exclusively through our own perspective. And when that happens, we become stagnant.

It’s like doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. The truth is, without change there is no growth.

I strongly recommend that you video yourself in action so you can identify formed habits that need to be changed.

Viking pricing

Good Morning,

I mentioned last month that Viking was having a modest price increase effective August 6, 2018.  I have attached the new excel price list and will be getting the new PDF version price lists to you in the next several weeks.  Listed below is a schedule of when the orders for current pricing and when it has to be shipped.

August 6, 2018 – Viking price change

August 6, 2018 – all new orders placed by 12:00 noon will receive current pricing, but must be shipped by August 31, 2018

August 6, 2018 – all new orders received after 12:00 noon will receive new pricing.

August 31, 2018 – all open orders with current pricing must be shipped or pricing will be changed to the new prices.

Questions Eliminate Objections!

During your needs analysis, make sure you are including questions that will eliminate potential objections from surfacing when you are attempting to close the sale.

Some of the most common objections center on price, postponement, competition or change, so you need to prepare open-ended questions that will determine if there may be a level of resistance in any of these areas.

Before you conclude your first meeting, make sure you are asking these questions. Don’t wait until it’s time to close to discover that your price is too high, they are getting additional quotes, they are not ready to move forward or they decided to stay with their existing provider.

The right questions will eliminate objections and make it easier to close the sale.

When Marvin Jr. was about five years old, I took him to one of my training sessions so he could see what Dad does for a living. It happened to be “Take Your Son or Daughter to Work Day.”

On the way home, I asked him for feedback on what he thought about Dad’s presentation. He immediately replied, “Dad you are just teaching people how to be nice.”

So the bottom line, from the mouth of Jr. is, “Just Be Nice!”

If you want to be exceptional in the eyes of your customer, it’s really not difficult. All you have to do is meet their expectations, and when you do, you become the exception. Unfortunately that’s not the rule.
You did what you said you were going to do; that’s an exception. You didn’t make promises you could not keep; that’s an exception. You were professional; that’s an exception. Get my drift?
When you consistently meet your customers’ expectations, you also exceed them, and now you become the exception and not the rule.

I wish I had a dollar for every time someone asked me if they should make another attempt to contact a person who has been unresponsive. Their biggest fear is that they don’t want to appear pushy and make them upset.

There is an old quote that states, “It’s easier to ask forgiveness than it is to get permission.” Continue to be pleasantly persistent until you connect. You can always offer an apology if needed, so take action.
