I just wanted to take a minute to send you an update on where we are today with Zephyr and our overall ventilation inventory situation.
As you probably know, demand for our ventilation product has far outpaced our production capacity over the last several months. In order to correct this trend, Zephyr is making production changes to get back on track with our retail partners.
Beginning Jan. 1st 2022, Zephyr will begin prioritizing production on our top-selling 60 SKUs (and derivative models). These models account for 80-85% of our total sales. The balance of the SKUs will become ‘extended lead-time’ . These ‘extended lead-time’ models will eventually be produced again, but the earliest expected ETA for them will be Q3 2022. While we are hopeful that time-line is conservative, we want to prepare all partners and consumers for that possibility.
The bright side is that Zephyr has confirmed that 95% of existing backorders on these ‘extended lead-time’ models will be filled prior to the production change. New orders however, will be impacted by this production change.
Attached is a list of models with upcoming MAP changes for the 10/11/21 price increase. On this sheet you will see the models that are marked ‘extended lead time’. My suggestion…
1) Can we make your team aware that new sales on ‘extended lead-time’ models will not be fulfilled until Q3 2022?
2) Can we either mark these models on the website as such, or temporarily remove them?
a. Other e-commerce partners are going this route in order to avoid consumer issues.
